This document specifies the interface and the behavior of the VHDL-AMS packages for use in modeling statistical behavior. These packages are useful in defining the statistical variation of parameters of electrical, electronic, and mechatronic components and sub-systems. These can then be used with simulation tools to analyze the performance and reliability of systems composed of these components and sub-systems. Providing a standard definition of the package interfaces and their behavior is intended to facilitate the exchange of models between component and system manufacturers and the use of different CAE simulation tools. The SAE statistical package supports the statistical modeling of design parameters subject to tolerances for designs described using the VHDL or VHDL-AMS languages. This SAE Information Report describes results of testing of the SAE J1746 ISP-Vehicle Standard for the communication of spatial data references between central sites and mobile vehicles on roads. Testing was performed by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and its contractors, resulting in a document from which this Information Report has been extracted. Tests were performed by computer analysis and corroborated by field tests with a mobile vehicle.

This SAE Recommended Practice promotes uniformity in the characterization tests conducted on sprays generated by automotive fuel injectors used in both port fuel injection and gasoline-direct injection engine applications. SAE J2715 contains the detailed background, procedures and data reduction protocols for nearly all fuel spray characterization metrics that are applicable to automotive applications. It is intended to be utilized in conjunction with other SAE J documents that address injector performance metrics. These are SAE J1832 for Port Fuel Injection and the forthcoming SAE J2713 for Gasoline Direct Injectors.

The LRMS is intended to provide a practical approach to standardization for location referencing within a mixed data set environment, i.e., where more than one kind of spatial data set exists, and where spatial references between these data sets must be made. Although some ITS applications in local areas may be satisfied by having one common data set— for which location references may be implemented in any number of ways— many ITS applications will have broad interoperability requirements within the nation or a region. For example, a vehicle driven from California to Florida in the U.S. should be able to receive and understand spatial references for traffic information or routing instructions throughout the trip. Similarly, information sent from a vehicle to a central site should be understood in any city regardless of the kinds of data sets in use, whether they are public or private, or how locations are referenced internally to particular data sets. The purpose of this AIR is to provide recommendations for the minimum dimensions of characters and symbols used in aircraft instrument dials and panel displays as related to the conditions stated in para. 3. Numerous variables influence the legibility of aircraft instrument dial characters. This situation makes it very difficult, if not impossible, to establish an exact act of rules for optimizing all installations. Character size, one of the important considerations, can be optimized where adequate dial space exists. Usually this is not the case and the designer is faced with placing the information in a limited space while continuing to strive for error-free legibility. Appropriate minimum size requirements have been stated herein for guidance in air transport use.

This Aerospace Standard (AS), establishes minimum performance standards for those sensors, computers, transponders, and airplane flight deck controls/displays which together comprise a Takeoff Performance Monitor (TOPM) System. This standard also defines functional capabilities, design requirements, and test procedures. A TOPM system is intended to monitor the progress of the takeoff and to provide advisory information which the crew may use in conjunction with other available cues to decide to continue or abort the takeoff. See Appendix A for supplementary information relating to NTSB, CAA, and ad hoc committee concerns and background information.
S-7 Flight Deck Handling Qualities Stds for Trans Aircraft
This document specifies instructions to verify proper calibration of all balancing machines used for processing gas turbine rotors. Detailed test procedures and test log samples are provided to evaluate the condition of the machine under test. These performance and test requirements may be used for new installations, periodic surveillance, or following repairs that may have affected machine performance. Calibration of the balancing machine is an activity done prior to verification testing and is outside the scope of this document. Troubleshooting of difficulties during the verification tests is also outside the scope of this document; this document is purely an instructive procedure.

This document recommends standard gland design criteria and dimensions for dynamic radial O-ring seal applications specifically for engine and engine control systems operating at pressures up to a maximum of 1500 psi (10342.14 kPa) and provides recommendations for modifying these glands in special applications. There are no provisions in this document for anti-extrusion devices. NOTE: The criteria set forth here are similar to but not identical with those in MIL-G-5514 and AS4716.
