Both of these GlobalPlatform specifications have associated protection profiles to validate compliance, although GlobalPlatform does not currently have any specific SAE J3101 protection profiles. GlobalPlatform has communicated that it is assessing whether or not to develop application-level protection profiles to more explicitly cover the remaining requirements of SAE J3101 in order to allow for standardized testing and certification of complete solutions.

Adaptive cruise control (ACC) is an enhancement of conventional cruise control systems that allows the ACC-equipped vehicle to follow a forward vehicle at a pre-selected time gap, up to a driver selected speed, by controlling the engine, power train, and/or service brakes. This SAE Standard focuses on specifying the minimum requirements for ACC system operating characteristics and elements of the user interface. This document applies to original equipment and aftermarket ACC systems for passenger vehicles (including motorcycles). This document does not apply to heavy vehicles (GVWR > 10,000 lbs. or 4,536 kg). Furthermore, this document does not address other variations on ACC, such as “stop & go” ACC, that can bring the equipped vehicle to a stop and reaccelerate. Future revisions of this document should consider enhanced versions of ACC, as well as the integration of ACC with Forward Vehicle Collision Warning Systems (FVCWS).

This standard permits the washers to be identified and ordered by a part identification number (PIN) as defined in this standard. Appendix A provides a means of establishing PINs for non-standard flat washers. Appendix B establishes standards for lock plates and tab lock washers often used in Navy designs. Appendix C identifies other military and non-government standards for flat washers, helical and toothed lock washers. It identifies the materials covered by each standard with a comparison of those dimensions with those SAE J2655 washers.

This SAE Recommended Practice is intended to establish guidelines for conducting passenger car roll-over tests so that data obtained by various test facilities may be more readily compared. A description is provided of the facilities and procedures for a curved rail-ramp technique, which has been found to be successful in producing roll-overs. Techniques and instrumentation for the study and evaluation of vehicle structure effects and occupant movement resulting from roll-overs produced by the curved rail-ramp system are also specified. The curved rail-ramp procedure has been evolved from laboratory and field studies and tests which have sought to establish procedures which would provide realistic simulations of roll-over accidents without collision, and which would be reproducible among laboratories and between different types of passenger cars. The FAA has issued Advisory Circular, AC43-207, that recommends re-correlation, trending or period checks. The FAA, AC43-207 bases their recommendation on ARP741. This paper describes a recommended practice and procedure for the configuration control requirements to maintain test cell correlation status. This is necessary to maintain performance measurement integrity, particularly when correlation approval is achieved by statistical trending. The configuration of a test facility that exists at the time when a correlation is being carried out should be "base lined" as a condition of correlation approval acceptance, and, be maintained during the time period that the respective correlation approval lasts. This defines test facility configuration control. This is due to the fact that a change in configuration may have the potential to change the established correlation factors and measured engine performance.
