The development of automotive UI/UX relies on the latest technologies and features in modern vehicle design, focusing on enhancing user interaction. The Magna UI/UX team uses innovative tools to streamline the development of user interaction features. Our process is accessible to all stakeholders and applicable to all UI/UX projects. With extensive experience working with both new entrants and traditional OEMs, we leverage diverse insights and methodologies to create state-of-the-art user experiences.
Beginning with the UI strategy, Magna defines the overall display and interaction strategy based on the latest UI/UX trends and benchmarking criteria for user experience. In this phase, Magna uses online clickdummies to evaluate initial wireframes and sketches, documenting UI elements (buttons, typography, colors, icons) and simulating feature interactions like music control.
To develop a UI/UX concept based on customer vision, Magna creates the base screen layout and operation flow/concept, including the UI design. To evaluate the operation and visualization of a feature, Magna uses interactive and modular UI/UX prototypes and virtual reality. These prototypes can communicate with different hardware elements like touch displays, buttons, gesture sensors, and ambient lights, creating a real car experience. For example, Magna can demonstrate the interaction from the music control button on the screen with a gesture control sensor.
Using UI/UX prototypes throughout the project lifecycle allows early validation in the initial phases and minimizes the need for expensive hardware and optimizing the timeline. This innovative approach provides stakeholders with a real impression of the UI/UX, setting a standard for user-friendly, immersive, and intuitive high-tech interfaces. Magna's UI/UX team finalizes the aligned and evaluated concept, approves it for implementation in the system and components, and proceeds with further validation.
