Abstract
Content
Light and Heavy-Duty Wireless Power Transfer for EVs have been standardized in SAE J2954 Standard and TIR J2954/2 respectively. There has been past data technical reports with vehicle testing to corroborate charging statically for light duty, but not yet done dynamically for the draft recommended practice SAE J2954/3. For this reason a Dynamic-WPT (D-WPT) test plan was created with the SAE WPT Taskforce (EV/Hybrid Committee) and tests with light and heavy-duty vehicles were carried out at the Utah State University, ASPIRE center with vehicles in motion and parked statically. Four Vehicle teams from OEMs, Tier 1 Suppliers as well as Universities created vehicle testing on both the test track and one real world application. The WPT power level and EMC/EMF were measured and summarized herein.
