The High Mobility Vehicle (HMV) is used as both an off-highway and on-highway vehicle in Defence applications. It is mainly used as general service and ground support vehicles for mobility of troops, ammunition and materials in the armed forces. These high mobility vehicles also used as base vehicle for launching missiles and carries radar systems. The HMVs are designed to perform in hard terrain, difficult climatic and environment conditions. This paper presents the new design has been made in HMV to tilt the operator cabin by adopting the electro hydraulic system against the conventional mechanical system. The new design system relates to an advanced electric-hydro mechanism designed for lifting vehicle cabins, which integrates electric and hydraulic systems to provide a safe, efficient, and reliable method for cabin tilting or lifting operations of HMV. The electric-assisted hydraulic mechanism enhances ease of operation, safety, and optimize power consumption while ensuring smooth and controlled lifting of HMV’s cabin. This invention provides an electric-hydro mechanism that combines an electric actuator with a hydraulic pump to lift and lower a vehicle cabin safely. The system operates through an electric motor-driven pump that activates a hydraulic cylinder, ensuring controlled movement. The existing conventional cabin lifting mechanisms primarily rely on manual hydraulic pumps or purely mechanical systems, which often require significant human effort, have slower response times, and pose operational risks, fully hydraulic systems, while more efficient, may be prone to leakage and require complex maintenance and frequent abrupt breakdown of the existing hydraulic lifting pump of cabin. The new electro hydraulic system has resolved mentioned demerits of the existing system. The schematic diagram of the electric hydro mechanism integrated into a vehicle cabin.
