Abstract
Content

An existing 3-D Navier-Stokes solution procedure, originally developed for the aerodynamic analysis of helicopter rotor blades, has been modified to provide for the analysis of fixed wing configurations as well. The original rotor blade procedure is described and the modifications required to switch from rotor blade to fixed wing calculations are discussed. Sample computations are presented for a transport wing model operating at subcritical and supercritical free stream conditions and for a modern rotor configuration in forward flight.
