This project aims to investigate the effect of carbide drill bits with different geometries on drilling 7075 Aluminum alloy (Al7075). The drilling on Al7075 will be performed by using CNC machine. The primary objective is to optimize drilling parameters to achieve better quality holes in Al7075, ensuring optimal assembly and product performance. The chosen input parameters for experimentation are spindle peed, feed rate, and tool geometry, while the selected output parameters are surface roughness, circularity error, and material removal rate. Three types of carbide drill bits twist, step, and Brad point are utilized for drilling Al7075. Machining trials involved drilling of holes on Al7075 according to L27 Taguchi’s orthogonal array (OA) approach using the solid carbide drill tools. Grey Relational analysis has been used to find the effect, percentage contribution, and significance of the process parameters, namely, cutting speed, feed rate, drill bit type. The focus of this article is to convey multi-objective optimization of CNC drilling parameters using the Taguchi-GRA to achieve the better performance in the machining of multi-material composites. The hybrid technique’s effective execution aids in the production of high-quality holes.
