Collins 3-D Flight Director System and Peripheral Command Indicator - Status Report

This paper deals with the operational and display aspects of Collins three-dimensional FD-108 Flight Director System and peripheral command indicator (PCI). Progress and trends in flight director displays during the past 15 years are reviewed. The basic display concept considerations and human factors tests which led to the three-dimensional flight director indicator and PCI are described.
