Scope
This recommended practice provides the design criteria for static elastomeric O-ring seals used specifically in engine and engine control systems. It provides axial compression (face type) groove dimensions for aerospace metric O-ring sizes specified in MA2010. The conditions considered to formulate the design criteria are also described, e.g., seal squeeze and groove volume to accommodate O-ring swell.
NOTE: Tables of O-ring groove dimensions are included based on the design criteria specified herein. Dimensions in this document are in millimeters unless otherwise specified.
Rationale
This standard has been reformatted for ease of use, with no technical changes.
NOTE: This standard was transferred from the E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems Committee to the A-6C2 Seals Committee.

Issuing Committee
A6C2 is responsible for the development of standards, processes, and practices related to Seals, Scrapers and Bearings used in actuation systems for Commercial and Military air vehicles. The panel provides a forum for government engineers, prime contractors, OEMs and suppliers to exchange technical information, regulatory updates, recent technology developments, issues related to system development and in service operation and lessons learned.

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
