Scope
This SAE Standard is intended to establish uniform methods for the testing and performance evaluation of certain types of steel and copper nickel tubing. The specific test and performance criteria applicable to each variety of tubing are set forth in the respective SAE J-Specifications.

The Metallic Tubing Subcommittee of the FCCTC develops and maintains SAE Standards, Recommended Practices and Information Reports relating to metallic tubing with an intended use in pressure applications. Participants in the FCCTC Metallic Tubing Subcommittee include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government and other interested parties.
