Scope
This procurement specification covers bolts and screws made from a corrosion and heat resistant, age hardenable nickel base alloy of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System as UNS N07718.
Rationale
Classification for fatigue strength added, AS6416 definition document added, clarification on solution treatment, flow lines, and grain size paragraphs added, deletion of cold from rolled thread requirement, Test loads rounded up or down. Table 1: Thread size for 0.164-32 corrected was 0.165-36, associated load corrected to 2871 from 3871. Figures 2A and 2B deleted. Figures 2 to 8 redrawn and renumbered. Paragraphs 3.3.5, 3.7.1.1.1, 3.7.1.1.2, 3.7.2.1, 3.7.2.2 reworded, 3.7.1.1.3 reworded and renumbered.

E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
The SAE E-25 General Standards for Aerospace & Propulsion Systems committee addresses aerospace propulsion systems and components. These systems and components include bolts, screws, nuts, washers, studs, rivets, pins, covers, O-rings, brackets, plugs and associated procurement requirements, as well as solid film lubricants and design specifications for screw threads and fastener assembly requirements.

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
