This standard provides a method for the application of surface finish control primarily to aircraft engine and propeller parts. ASA publication B46 may be used to supplement the information compiled herein. This standard contains a summary of the information in ASA B46 publication plus other information which has been compiled from current manufacturing practice.

E-25 General Standards for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems
The SAE E-25 General Standards for Aerospace & Propulsion Systems committee addresses aerospace propulsion systems and components. These systems and components include bolts, screws, nuts, washers, studs, rivets, pins, covers, O-rings, brackets, plugs and associated procurement requirements, as well as solid film lubricants and design specifications for screw threads and fastener assembly requirements.
