Scope
This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) specifies the requirements of balancing machines that make them suitable for the subject class of work. It was developed for soft-bearing balancing machines but may also be used for hard-bearing machines until ARP4050 is issued for that type of machine.

The SAE EG-1A Balancing committee concerns itself with all balancing methods and procedures as they relate to the interests of the aerospace industry. The group’s scope includes creating, preparing and, maintaining all relevant specifications, recommended practices, standards and, requirements for rotor balance measurement, evaluation and, correction. The SAE EG-1A committee includes OEMs, suppliers, processors, consulting firms, government, academia and others throughout both the commercial and military aerospace industries.
