Rings, Sealing, Tetrafluoroethylene/Propylene Rubber (Fepm) Hydraulic Fluid and Synthetic Oil Resistance 70 to 80
- Aerospace Material Specification
This specification covers a tetrafluoroethylene/propylene rubber (FEPM) in the form of molded rings.
These rings have been used typically as static sealing rings for continuous use from -5 to +232 degrees C (+23 to +450 degrees F) in dry air, hydraulic fluids, synthetic lubricants, and high pH chemical decontamination fluids, but usage is not limited to such applications.

Welcome to the AMS-CE Elastomers Committee Discussion Forum. The AMS-CE Elastomers Committee maintains Aerospace Materials Specifications (AMS), Aerospace Recommended Practices (ARP), Aerospace Information Reports (AIR) and Aerospace Standards (AS) on elastomeric materials. AMS-CE, which reports to the Aerospace Materials Division, coordinates and maintains liaison with industry, government and other standardization groups on elastomeric materials. A significant part of this committee is concerned with elastomeric fluid sealing materials, their applications, material development, testing, quality, design parameters and design practices.
