Steel, Corrosion and Heat-Resistant, Bars, Wire, Forgings, Tubing, and Rings 13Cr - 2.0Ni - 3.0W Annealed
- Aerospace Material Specification
- AMS5616A
- Revised
Scope
This specification covers a corrosion and heat resistant steel in the form of bars, wire, forgings, mechanical tubing, flash welded rings, and stock for forging, flash welded rings, or heading.
These products have been used typically for parts requiring oxidation resistance up to 1000 degrees F (538 degrees C), but usage is not limited to such applications. Strength at the higher temperature is superior to that of the standard 12Cr type steel.

Issuing Committee
AMS F Corrosion Heat Resistant Alloys Committee
The committee of Corrosion and Heat Resistant Steels and Alloys and Specialty Steels and Alloys, AMS Committee F, will prepare, coordinate, and revise documents related to corrosion and heat resistant steels and alloys and specialty steels and alloys technology, such as stainless steels and nickel and base alloys, through the participation of metals suppliers, users, and interested government agencies. Committee activities shall provide a forum for the cooperative interchange of ideas and experience of the participants, resulting in the publication of specifications that embody sound, established aerospace industry practices and requirements to serve the suppliers and customers of aerospace materials.
