Steel, Corrosion Resistant, Sheet and Strip 17cr 7.1ni 1.1al, Solution Heat Treated and Cold Rolled Precipitation Hardenable, 0.0015 to 0.050 Inch (0.038 to 1.27 Mm) Nominal Thickness
- Aerospace Material Specification
This specification covers a corrosion-resistant steel in the form of sheet and strip 0.0015 to 0.050 inch (0.038 to 1.27 mm) in nominal thickness.
These products have been used typically for parts requiring corrosion resistance and high strength up to 600 degrees F (316 degrees C), but usage is not limited to such applications.
Strength of these cold-worked products will be impaired if parts require welding during fabrication.
Certain design and processing procedures may causes these products to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP 1110 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
Data Sets - Support Documents
The committee of Corrosion and Heat Resistant Steels and Alloys and Specialty Steels and Alloys, AMS Committee F, will prepare, coordinate, and revise documents related to corrosion and heat resistant steels and alloys and specialty steels and alloys technology, such as stainless steels and nickel and base alloys, through the participation of metals suppliers, users, and interested government agencies. Committee activities shall provide a forum for the cooperative interchange of ideas and experience of the participants, resulting in the publication of specifications that embody sound, established aerospace industry practices and requirements to serve the suppliers and customers of aerospace materials.
