Titanium Alloy, Forgings 6.0al 2.0sn 4.0zr 2.0mo Solution and Precipitation Heat Treated
- Aerospace Material Specification
This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of forgings and forging stock.
These products have been used typically for parts requiring high strength and toughness and good creep resistance up to 1000 degrees F (538 degrees C), but usage is not limited to such applications.
Certain processing procedure and service conditions may cause these forgings to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.

Data Sets - Support Documents
The committee of Titanium, Beryllium, and Refractory Materials, AMS Committee G, is responsible for preparation, revision, review and approval of documents related to aerospace application of these materials. Included are titanium, beryllium, and refractory metallic such as molybdenum, tantalum, and columbium. The committee provides a forum for interchange of experience and ideas among industry representatives, both suppliers and users, along with interested government agencies, to ensure the utility, proper technical content, and industry acceptance of published documents.
