The Hybrid III Dummy Family Task Force has recommended a change to the H-III5F dummy to fix a design defect that causes data artifacts. This report is needed to document the problem and the solution to this problem recommended by the task force.

Dummy Testing and Equipment Committee
The Dummy Testing Equipment Committee (DTEC) is a group of experts with experience in the area of certification and handling of Anthropomorphic Test Devices (ATD), more commonly known as crash test dummies, and equipment related to ATD. The DTEC seeks to standardize the use and certification of ATD so that test data are both repeatable and reproducible.
