This SAE Information Report contains definitions for hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle terminology. It is intended that this document be a resource for those writing other hydrogen fuel cell vehicle documents, specifically, Standards or Recommended Practices.
The technical report covers technology, products, or processes which are mature and not likely to change in the foreseeable future.

The Fuel Cell Standards Committee is responsible for establishing standards for hydrogen and fuel cell vehicles. Standards will cover the safety aspects of hydrogen, fuel cell, and electrical systems in the vehicle, test procedures to establish the performance of the vehicle, system/components, and interface requirements.
