This Draft Technical Report covers the minimum performance and endurance requirements for coiled electrical cables to connect a tractor and trailer and/or trailer to trailer.
The purpose of this Draft Technical Report is to give the technical community the opportunity to review, comment on, and use the Draft Technical Report prior to its final approval by SAE. This document shall have a life span of no more than three years from approval which may not be renewed.
This Draft Technical Report represents the current thinking of the sponsoring Technical Committee. The use of this report is entirely voluntary, and its applicability and suitability for any particular use, including any patent infringements arising therefore, is the sole responsibility of the user.
Comment on this Draft are welcome and should be submitted in writing to Secretary, Technical Standards Board, SAE Headquarters, 400 Commonwealth Drive, Warrendale, PA 15096-0001.
The Truck and Bus Electrical Systems Committee is responsible for initiating, drafting, reviewing, and approving review Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports that pertain to the electrical/electronic power distribution systems, wiring, and other electromechanical [mechatronic] components of trucks, tractor-trailer combinations and ubses over 10,000 lbs. (4500 Kg) GVWR primarily designed for on-highway use, but encompassing limited off-highway operation of vocational vehicles. The Committee reports to the Truck and Bus Electrical/Electronic Steering Committee., standards and information reports concerned with the distribution of electrical energy in trucks, buses, and truck-trailers, including the connections required.

SAE MOBILUS supports the use of the AND, OR and NOT BOOLEAN operators ONLY function with the Advanced Search.
Wild Cards
Using the asterisk, ( * ) allows you to search for a partial word. For example, entering a keyword search of aero* will search for any word beginning with aero.
Using the question mark, ( ? ) allows you to search for a word with a single character wildcard. For example, searching for t?re would match both tire and tyre
Using Quotes
Words in double quotes " " are treated as a phrase. Conducting a search for "heat model" will return all results in which the exact phrase "heat model" is found, while "heat modeling" would NOT be included.
A term combined with a phrase will be joined with an OR operator.
Searching for Standards
When searching for a standard please use the entire Document Number assigned, which includes the abbreviation. A space can be used, or omitted between the abbreviation and number.
