Scope
This document specifies a test method for simulating solar heating in the laboratory and measuring the radiant heat energy from a natural or simulated source. This standard is applicable to all off-road, self-propelled work machines as listed in the scope of SAE J1116 (Rev Nov 2004) when equipped with an operator enclosure system.

HFTC6, Operator Accommodations Committee reports to the Human Factors Technical Committee (HFTC) and is part of the Construction, Agriculture, and Off-Road Machinery (ConAg) Council. HFTC6 is dedicated to creating, preparing and maintaining relevant specification, standards and requirements relating to Operator Accommodations including Heating, Ventilation, Air-conditioning and Defrost. The category of machines covered include Off-Road Self-Propelled Work Machines as defined in SAE J1116 and may include Tractors and Machinery for Agriculture and Forestry as defined in ANSI/ASAE S390. Participants in HFTC6 committee are acting as individuals currently involved in the construction, agricultural and related industries through OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government and other organizations.
