This SAE Recommended Practice describes a lap shear test method for use in measuring the bonding characteristics of automotive-type adhesives for joining fiber reinforced plastics (FRPs) to themselves and to metals.

Materials, Processes and Parts Council
The Materials, Processes, and Parts Council (MPPC) promotes, directs, supervises and provides for the development of consensus SAE Technical reports. The council also conducts investigations for activities related to engineered materials, processes and parts used in the surface mobility industry. Participants in the SAE Materials, Processed and Parts Council include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government and other interested parties.
