Scope
This SAE Standard has been adopted by SAE to specify:
- a. A basis for net engine power rating
- b. Reference inlet air and fuel supply test conditions
- c. A method for correcting observed power to reference conditions
- d. A method for determining net full load engine power with a dynamometer.

Engine Power Test Code Committee
The Engine Power Test Code Standards Committee reports to the Powertrain Systems Group of the Motor Vehicle Council. The Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining SAE Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports related to the dynamometer testing of internal combustion engines for applications other than marine or aircraft use. Participants in the SAE Engine Power Test Code Standards Committee include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government, and other interested parties.
