Scope
This standard is intended to provide guidance for selecting standardized methods for estimating the proportion nonconforming expressed as PPM. These methods are contained in EIA 554-1, EIA 554-2 and EIA 591.

Issuing Committee
The SMC is an interdisciplinary, cross-sector council responsible for developing, maintaining and evolving standards which cover processes used to manage the development, production, and sustainment of systems, including products and services.
