The “it” vehicles for the 2005 model year feature advanced technologies such as cylinder deactivation to go along with Hemi power and distinctive styling.

The styling of a vehicle, both inside and out, is what first attracts many consumers to a new vehicle. For the new 2005 Chrysler 300 sedan and Dodge Magnum sports tourer, the attraction has been strong as sales continue to rise.

The unique look of these cars is at least partly the result of their rear-wheel-drive (RWD) architecture, which enabled a 120-in (3048-mm) wheelbase-longest in class for both vehicles, according to Chrysler-and placement of the wheels at the corners for added stability. It also provided designers room to sculpt a long hood and short decklid for the 300. Based on a widened Mercedes-Benz E-Class chassis, the 300 and Magnum have a 63-in (1600-mm) front track and 63.1-in (1603-mm) rear track.
