Scope
This specification covers circular threaded electrical connectors with solder or removable crimp contacts (both front and rear release). These connectors are for use in electronic, electrical power, and control circuits (see 6.1).
Rationale
A Limited Scope revision is required to: (1) add a reference to AIR6151 for torque values, (2) add the high power contact sheets, AS39029/123 and /124, (3) add the new AS39029/123 and /124 contacts to this document revision, (4) clarify the finish requirements for DJS style connectors, (5) update the durability requirement to align with the new revision of AS34591, (6) update the connector sample requirement to align with the new revision of AS34591, (7) correct Table 16 paragraph references and (8) to return the workmanship paragraph (3.31) wording to what it was on previous MIL versions.

Issuing Committee
SAE Subcommittee AE-8C1, Connectors, shall be associated with those activities directed by the parent SAE Aerospace Council and the SAE Aerospace Electronics and Electrical Distribution Systems Committee, for the development and application of electrical optical connector and associated hardware standards and specifications. SAE Subcommittee shall also serve the needs of the Navy, Army, and Air Force through the establishment and maintenance of User Advisory Committees.

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
