Scope
This SAE Aerospace Standard (AS) covers one type of maximum-allowable-airspeed instrument which gives a continuous indication of both indicated airspeed and maximum allowable airspeed not exceeding 650 knots.
Rationale
This standard contains no changes from the previous revision, other than the addition of a stabilization notice page. This document has been determined to contain stable technical information which is not dynamic in nature.

A-4 Aircraft Instruments Committee
The A-4 Committee is responsible for mechanical, electromechanical and electronic cockpit instrumentation standards applicable to all civil aircraft, with emphasis on minimum performance standards intended for reference in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Technical Standard Orders (TSO).
A list of the technical reports developed by the A-4 Committee can be obtained by searching on 'aircraft instruments' and selecting 'standards', from the SAE Home Page. * Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
