Scope

Content: This specification covers one type of copper in the form of bars, rods, and shapes. Requirements are provided for bar and rods up to 3.000 inches (mm) in nominal diameter, squares and rectangles with up to 4.000 inches (mm) least distance between parallel sides and shapes of any size (see 8.6).

Content: AMS4602E results from a Five-Year Review and update of this specification specification with changes to correct temper designation in title, prohibit unauthorized exceptions (3.3.2, 3.6, 4.4.1, 5.1.1, 8.4), update form (1.1), applicable documents (Section 2, 3.1), composition (3.1), terminology for hydrogen embrittlement susceptibility (3.3.5), sampling and testing (4.3.2.1), ordering information (8.5), and allow the use of the immediate prior specification revision (8.3).
