Scope
This specification establishes requirements for a heat resistant aluminized organic coating with sufficient corrosion and erosion resistance for the finished substrate.
Rationale
This revision revises the high temperature resistance requirement such that it no longer relies on subjective visual color evaluation. Also, appropriate tolerances have been added for rain erosion and filiform corrosion test methods.

AMS G8 Aerospace Organic Coatings Committee
The AMS Committee G-8, Aerospace Organic Coatings, provides a forum to address common concerns such as application, corrosion, environmental compliance, material compatibility, OSHA requirements, performance requirements, specifications, surface preparation, and test methods. The three primary areas of activity are: 1. Writing and Maintaining Specifications 2. Cooperative Testing 3. Information Sharing and Networking

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
