A-5 Aerospace Landing Gear Systems Committee
The A-5 Committee addresses all facets of aerospace landing gears: design, maintenance and in-service experience. It publishes Aerospace Information Reports (AIR), Aerospace Recommended Practices (ARP) and Aerospace Standards (AS) for use throughout the industry. These documents provide current design information, recommended design practices and design standards for landing gear systems. A-5 also provides a forum for presentations on current technology and technical interchanges needed by each engineer to stay abreast of a fast moving field.
A-5 is comprised of three subcommittees: Wheels & Brakes (A-5A), Landing Gear, Struts and Couplings (A-5B) and Tires (A-5C). A-5 is an assemblage of top landing gear engineers from throughout the industry and the world including customers and commercial users. The committees form and modify the various specifications and standards for both military and commercial applications. Benefits from committee participation are knowledge, customer responses and first-hand input into tomorrow's specifications.
