There are various odors inside cars which are evolved from interior parts and materials of new car, human, environmental tobacco smoke and streamed from ambient air. They are important in relation with good's character, safety and comfortable driving. We studied odor analysis for trace analysis with GC, GC-MS, LC and sensory evaluation.
By odor analysis, amine-like and fishy odors are more unpleasant. Little nitrogen-containing organic compounds than others in volume is important parameter for the odorants in new cars.
And also, we noticed vehicle-emitted volatile organic compounds and NO2 as streaming odorants. Odorants peculiar to ambient air at driving area were picked up
