Development of High Power, High Frequency Spindles

Abstract
High speed machining of aluminum parts in the aerospace industry creates a need for a new spindle technology. Starting with a definition of the “optimal range” of cutting parameters and the corresponding “shaft power versus speed” requirements, specifications for essential spindle components are being discussed.
