Abstract
Vision systems are of a great interest for monitoring driver's vigilance and occupant nature and position. The use of such system can also provide many information for increasing vehicle occupant comfort and security. This global approach has been initiated within Siemens Automotive SA by the development of a real time prototype for loss of vigilance detection. Work is now going on for occupant sensing. In this paper we present the result obtained on driving vigilance monitoring and the working directions for occupant nature and position analysis.
