Abstract
Predictions of pulsation effects of the real engine exhaust manifolds were presented. For shortening CPU time into reasonable level as a design tool, calculations were performed only about exhaust system with cyclic pre-assumed inflow boundary conditions. The tendency of calculated pressure histories agreed with experiments. The effect of manifold shapes such as pipe junction on volumetric efficiency, which was difficult to evaluate by the usual one-dimensional analysis, was also predictable.
