Abstract
The SAE Training and Education Subcommittee of the SAE Fluid Conductors and Connectors Technical Committee has rewritten SAE J1273, a standard previously titled Selection, Installation, and Maintenance of Hose and Hose Assemblies. The new title is Recommended Practices for Hydraulic Hose Assemblies. The revised document represents a consensus in SAE of the manufacturers and users of hydraulic hose. It presents their agreements on how hydraulic hose should be used to optimize performance and to minimize the risk of personal injury and property damage. The revised document presents safety considerations and SAE-recommended practices for hose selection and routing, hose-assembly fabrication, installation and replacement, maintenance, and storage.
