Abstract
We intend to present in this work the potential of the application of renewable natural products as raw materials within the production of components for the automobile industry, encouraging the development of technologies ecologically correct for the benefit of a sustainable development.
We present the objectives of the Program Poverty and and Enviroment in the Amazon - POEMA and the results already obtained through the integration and performance of vital parts which indicates in the human development and in the Amazon ecosystems preservation, its main point of convergence.
We have made an analisys of the mechanics properties of the main tillable vegetal fibres as well as the performance of thermoplastic parts reinforced with flax fibres, sisal and hemp compared to the glass fibres.
By means of examples, we illustrate the current technological development level and the applications which have already been implemented by Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and Daimler-Benz combined with the suppliers and research institutes which manufacture such products.
