A time sharing exhaust gas analysis system has been developed for rapidly analyzing hydrocarbon emissions under transient modes such as cold start, warming up and acceleration.
The system 1) rapidly samples exhaust gas at intervals 0.2 sec.; 2) stores hydrocarbons in a stable condition by using a glass lined tube; and 3) makes it possible to detect specific hydrocarbons of 250 components in exhaust gas, and enables the calculation of specific reactivity.
The system is also applicable to analysis of other kinds of gases.
