We have developed supercharged 2.4-liter 16-valve in-line four-cylinder engine, 2TZ-FZE, for Toyota minivan Previa in U.S.A. (Estima in Japan). In spite of the air-charged engine, liner acceleration and low fuel consumption was realized by the newly developed intake air pressure control system. Moreover, the supercharger outlet duct with a resonator and the air tube made of new plastic material reduced the supercharger noise. As a result, new Previa with 2TZ-FZE has higher performance, lower fuel consumption and more comfortableness than other minivans with big volume V6 engines.
