Abstract
Recent advances in non-linear finite element analysis (N.L.F.E.A.) and the availability of powerful desktop computers have brought a whole new range of simulation technology within the reach of application engineers in the rubber component industry. This advanced technology gives the engineer the ability to model accurately and quickly the complex mechanical and thermal properties of rubbers. Design optimizations can therefore be carried out quickly and efficiently. This process allows new and better products to be developed, while deriving the dual benefits of reduced development costs and reduced time to market.
