Abstract
The developement of a bilayer glazing, made of one sheet of glass and one sheet of plastic film offers promise for automotive windshields, side and rear windows and sunroofs.
This paper will describe the basic safety advantages of this new type of glazing for automotive use as well as its other attributes of weight reduction, design flexibility, improved optical quality, UV-filtering, stone impact, burglary resistance.
