The influence of the operation discrete nature upon the dynamic and static properties of the diesel are considered. The dynamic model of the diesel taking into account four operation cycles was used for investigation. In constructing the diesel dynamic model the method of Gonchar [1] based on the energy and mass balance equations as well as on that of the operating body state was applied. The process of fuel combustion was calculated by Vibe's method [2]. The model of the one-cylinder diesel with the ideal electronic rotation frequency controller was used to demonstrate the influence of the discrete nature of the diesel operation upon the dynamic characteristics of the rotation frequency controllers. The diagram of the point-by-point transformations was constructed on the phase plane. The transition processes of the load thrav -off/surge for the one-cylinder diesel with the proportional rotation frequency controller, as well as the mechanic characteristics of the diesel with the aforemenrtioned controllers were obtained.
