Abstract
On computer a dynamic model of a medium-duty truck is built
which contains rigid modes and flexural modes before 20 Hz.
The truck is divided into its main components such as the frame,
the cab, the engine and the axles. The frame and the cab are in
rigid and flexural modes, the engine and the axles only in rigid
modes. The parameters of rigid modes use the measuring data, while
the parameters of flexural modes are obtained by modal tests. All
components are connected in the model by damping and spring
elements of which parameters are obtained by dynamic test.
In this model, the method of sub-structure block analysis is
adopted. In order to include measuring freedoms as many as possible
and enough modes, the calculating process is divided into measuring
freedom groups and sub-structure groups. The computing result is
very coincident with the test result before 20 Hz.
