Screw-Type Supercharger Enables Fuel-Economic Supercharging-Pressure Control for Passenger Car Engines
Published June 07, 1994 by Institution of Mechanical Engineers in United Kingdom
Using an engine process simulation program the effects of various supercharging-pressure control methods on the performance of a passenger-car diesel engine mechanically supercharged by a screw-type supercharger are investigated. Compared to the operation with an uncontrolled supercharger remarkable improvements in specific fuel consumption at part load are shown to be attainable.
