Single Point Hot Refueling of Racing Cars

A new rapid fueling system has been developed for Formula One racing cars.

Handling of highly volatile fuel in a very stressful environment makes safety of paramount importance.

To lessen the risk of accident, simplicity in operation and reduced number of operators led to the design of a single point system. This system incorporates car tank venting, fuel delivery and vapour recovery in a single quick connect/disconnect coupling assembly.

The existing car fuel replenishment configuration and the time restraint of a pit-stop dictates pressure refueling.
