Authors Abstract
Content
We conducted 4-hour continuous driving fatigue tests using a cargo truck. From the measurement data obtained, we picked out three items which we considered to be representative of the correlative factors to the driver's alertness level, i.e., monotony value (dependent on the total of turn signal, exhaust brake and shift lever operations, and other vehicle operations), amount of steering (accumulated amount of corrective steering) and amount of meandering (meandering width), and evaluated the system to estimate the alertness level from these data by a fuzzy-logic inferential approach. In this paper, we will discuss the results of the evaluation.
