Abstract
Recent developments in automotive trends have resulted in tougher emissions standards, higher fuel efficiencies, and consequently higher engine compartment temperatures. In response to this change, there has been a need to develop pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) tapes for the engine compartment wire harnesses, while remaining cost competetive with existing harness tape products. Several new higher performance PSA harness tape products are introduced in this paper and compared favorably against competetive tape products, especially non-adhesive high temperature dry vinyl (HTDV).
