The thermoplastic composites, if compared with thermoset ones, show several advantages, such as the impact and fatigue resistance and high processing speed. Nevertheless some concerns about these materials are actually present among the manufacturers. The reason can be explained with the poor knowledge of the material and the basic concepts of processing. In this paper at first the basic concepts, regarding the thermoforming of thermoplastic fabrics, are examined. Then experiences of rubber forming are presented. The items were fabricated with fabrics made of impregnated rovings produced by FIT technology.
