Braking Force Distribution Control for Improved Vehicle Dynamics

We have researched a new braking force distribution control system that improves vehicle dynamics behavior during braking through the generation of a yawing moment by adjusting the distribution of braking force to all four wheels. This paper describes a braking force distribution control system which combines steering wheel angle feedforward control with yaw rate feedback control. The results of simulations and experiments show that this braking force distribution control system provides a dramatic improvement in handling and stability during braking.
