Combustion Improvement With a High Pressure Injection System in High Speed Di Diesel Engine

The object of this study is to improve the controllability of pilot injection and the injection cut-off characteristic of an electrically controlled unit injector. The influence of design parameters on the injection characteristics was analyzed by the numerical simulation, specifically developed to predict the transient hydraulic phenomena and the dynamics of mechanical components. It as proved that the mechanism of closing the needle valve by hydraulic force provided better injection characteristics.
