Abstract
As well-known, decreasing idle speeds enables to reduce fuel consumption. On the other hand, idling stability at low idle- speed tends to be worse than the one at the high idle-speed. For improvements of idling stability at low idle-speed, we have been trying to design idle-speed control system for reducing idle- speed fluctuations caused by torque load disturbance, using H- infinity control theory. We obtained a single-input single- output H-infinity controller formulating our problem as a mixed sensitivity minimization problem. Several better control results of the H-infinity controller are reported.
